VILLA PROSPERO ~ OUT AND ABOUT

Image: Prospero's nearest fishing village - Loggos

The tiny island of Paxos (7 x 3 miles), south of Corfu, remains peaceful and unspoilt because it has no airport! Travel from the UK to Paxos is usually by air to Corfu (flight time approximately 2hours 40mins), taxi to the port (approx. 10 minutes) and then hydrofoil (one hour's journey time) or ferry from the port of Corfu Town to Gaios, the "capital" of Paxos.

The two travel companies through whom Prospero can be booked arrange all transfers and "meet and greet" services.

Although Glyfada beach (nearest to Villa Prospero) and the village of Loggos are within easy walking distance, for travel further afield car hire, taxi or local bus are recommended.

Many of the smaller beaches are more easily reached by boat which can also be hired in Loggos and which the travel companies will organise.

One of the boat hire proprietors in Loggos is Panyotis Mastoras (Pano) who also owns Mastoras Supermarket, the last mini-market on leaving Loggos towards the Villa. As part of his service, he will deliver groceries to Villa Prospero free of charge.

If a car is hired, it will be waiting on the quayside at the New Port in Gaios where the hydrofoil docks.
